I've been using an Anderson H3 (nice pickup) and was wondering if anyone knows what type of magnet it or other Anderson pickups use? Their website doesn't mention magnet type.
Thanks.
I believe that they are AlNiCo 5 magnets but with large diameter pole pieces, which Anderson claims helps to quot;spread the magnetic fieldquot; and make the pickups have less string pull.
Thanks man. It's hard to tell with this pickup.
Sweet...Id like to check out the h3 I think Pepper Keenan uses one from COC..He has a great tone.
Yeah, I know Pepper uses an Anderson but didn't know it was the one I have! That's Awesome. So is the new album. You get it yet? If not, you should pick it up.
But, anyway, this pickup is pretty nice. Balanced, warm, clear, crunchy. I like it. It's really versatile. I use Mesa/Boogie equipment too, which works well with this pickup.
My Anderson Classic has there really warm and, at the same time, clear and defined single coils. The model is quot;VAquot;. They sound like Alnico 2.

I prefer there southern heavy stuff.
Come to think of it I don't know if it's the same anderson pup Pepper uses. Im gonna check.
