I'm just wondering if anyone knows if it's a direct fit or not. All I know is the guitar I'll be looking at (I've not played it yet) is a Japanese standard strat. AFAIK they have 6 post trems, right? Or am I going wrong somewhere here lol
Any help is much appreciated, along with experiences with the Jap strats in general

I would think so, yes. After all, the VSVG was designed to be a replacement for Fender V-Trems. There might be some minor variations due to it being made oversees, so you might have to do what I had to to fit the VSVG to my strat copy and that's plug the holes and redrill.
