Scott and co, thanks so much for the heads up on these tubes. The warmth and smoothness of them is fantastic. My gibson Atlas that I just Sozo'd was taken to a whole new level with these tubes. Worth the hype IMO.

I just got a few new 12AX7s (EC 803s) from Eurotubes today ... they're a new tube from them, supposedly similar to old Telefunken and Mullards

Where did you get yours? I've been looking for some of the big bottles, but I can't find a place with them in stock.

I went to Mojo supply as recomended. These tubes are lush and warm, lots of bottm but not in a muddy thick way. Most new 6L6 I play are very hard feeling dynamically, these are lush and a bit more compressed. The Atlas ( A 64 I believe) feels like a tube rectified amp despite not having a rectifier tube. These tubes compliment the amp perfectly. The high end is kinda buttery, not spiked in the highs at all. They kinda do what an A2 magnet does, less hardness and a more mellow but not muddy treble response. The amp had some very old Raytheon 6L6 tubes in it that simply do not have the singing character of these tubes.

I may be done on my new 6L6 tube search, really impressed.

I ordered them on recommendation of someone here. I have a set that is gonna get put into a twin reverb. will give a review later.

Do you mean the German company Tube Amp Doctor? Their quot;ownquot; tubes are told to be produced somewhere in the East but with strict German-style quality control I stopped using JJs when I slapped in a pair of TAD EL34 STRs. I have no problem with JJs (TAD company distributes them here) but these have some even more round and dynamic tone. It is strictly subjective but for me: JJ vs TAD = good vs better case. I got into the habit of using TAD 7025 tubes in the first gain stage for additional brainblasting
