I have a Traynor YCV20WR equipped with a Celestion G12 M quot;Greenbackquot; speaker. I used to have a YCV40 equipped with a Celestion Seventy 80 speaker. A very different beast with 6L6 tubes instead of EL84.
Nevertheless, the Greenback seems brighter to me than the Seventy 80. I know that the G12 M is a high-end speaker, yet I wonder if it really suits my need. I would like a little more mids, creamier high end and a tight bottom. And I don't want to spoil the great clean tone of the amp.
Would a Vintage 30 fit the bill? Any other makers (Eminence or else, I don't care as long as it's good)?
