ok, it looks like i would like to get some noiseless singles for my strat in the neck and middle position. now what should i get though?
i actually kinda like the tone of the singles in my mexican strat, but with the tube screamer now, they're a little dark and when i play at church, i get a nice loud buzz going on. so i'd like to check some noiseless ones out, it's the standard quot;i like strat tone, but i dont want buzzquot; idea.
maybe the classic stacks or something?

maybe the classic stacks or something?trust me...WAIT on the New Duncans...Im pretty sire they will be out this year, and Im sure it will be worth the wait!
KINMAN's -- they're a little pricey but they're worth it.
Or you can wait until Duncan puts out his new line of stacks.
really?
new models?
I don't know anything about these new Duncans, but I am very happy with the Classic Stacks in my MIA Strat. Low output, nice vintage Strat tone. If you are looking for something with more output, then maybe the Cool Rails or Hot Rails are more your speed.
But yeah, I'd wait for the new ones. The hype on them is pretty crazy.
Is it true the stronger the magnet, the more power it is ?
Like I said...wait on the new Stacks...TRUST ME!
I hope those new Strat sets come in left hand version from day one. That's one nice thing about the Kinmans, they have left and right hand versions at the same cost.
i have a mexi-strat, and i know that i can't wait for the new stacks to come out. They are going to kick @$$.
What mode lof strat do you have?
you might want to consider a rw/rp pickup for the middle position which will eliminate the hum in the quot;in between positionsquot;. I just roll off the volume knob if using the bridge and go totally silent til jsut before I am ready to play-it works for me. The noiseless pickups from Fender are okay, I have used them, but they sound more compressed and not as lively, you do have to compensate for them at the amp imho.
Another option would be the SD quot;railsquot; or mini humbuckers, they all sound very good and there are several choices to pick from as well.
hope that helps,
kurtster
Check out the Bill Lawrence noiseless pup's @ had the L-280s installed in my Strat for about a year and no hums in any position.
Keep on Rockin!!

Any information about the expected price for a set of the new Duncan noiseless pickups? I know what the Kinmans cost and those are looking pretty good if I get fed up waiting for the Seymours....

1, wait for them, then review and record 'em for the rest of us.
Guys...Im not sure what all I can say about the new Stacks, but I have a good, solid feeling they will be out this year and trust me they are very impressive...I did a shootout with several sets of noiseless single coil pups (Fender, Lace, Lawrence, Kinman) and the first set of Duncan proto's beat EVERYTHING, the second set is even better than they first ones!
I remember really digging Dimarzio's Virtual Vintage pickups. I had a Blues in the neck, '54 in the middle, and a Solo in the bridge.
They worked great with OD, but didn't have all the twang I wanted when clean. I have a feeling that if I had gone with a full set of 54's in my strat, they would still be in there.
