A Peavey Transfex Pro Head 2x130watts and 5150 4x12 slant cab for $350 bucks?!

i have a friend who said he'd sell it to me for that $....i figured i could sell the head for that if i wanted and keep the cab and get another head...maybe a classic series...if i don't like it that is!?

thoughts/suggestions?

i've played bass with him before while he was playing with it and all i can remember is that he got some serious crunch and it moved alot of air!

i guess the cab would practically be worth that much?!

Get it. I have fond memories of the Peavey Transtube sound. It doesn't sound as good as my Bassman, or my Boss/Mesa rig, but they were nice sounding, LOUD SS amps that were solid as a rock.

I'm willing to bet that it'll be a better home practice halfstack than most tube heads on a 4-12. If you felt inclined, you could sell the head for about the entire cost, and have a free 4-12. You'll probably like it enough to keep it, tho.

that's kinda what i was thinking...i'd have huge access to some great sounds at practice volumes (or earbleeding levels, this thing is WAY LOUD when cranked!) and then later i could get a tube head of some sort (rivera fandango!) and with an already nice cab, i'd be set...i think i'm gonna sell one of my handguns to get it...i hate to...but it's a hard deal to pass up!

well....i did it...sold a Glock 19 to a guy at work last night and bought the halfstack....$350 bucks...still can't believe it!!!

he's bringing it over when i get off work today...of course i don't even have an electric guitar to play on it right now except for my daughter's short scale memphis strat copy...lol...i'll plug my tak into it

anyways...i'm looking forward to messing with it and seeing what kinda sounds i can get out of it and all...my wife's brother is coming down for her graduation this weekend and he has a dillion goldtop with p-90's in it...i'll give it a good workout then and give you guys a full report!!!

Now at least when the quot;TeleHossquot; is finished, i'll something to play it through!!!

i think so too...i might very well end up getting one of those...i like the idea of getting this setup and then getting different heads to go along with it...i'm not sure what speakers are in it...and that's something i'm sure i'll play around with too!

did some research on used Peavey Classic 50 series heads...they go for around $400...not bad!?
