Yeah, finally good ole GJ gets around to putting up a Sounclick page!
Sorry, no Bogner this time. I just threw this together to get myself into the tips'n'clips section, with more to follow later. Not bad for an evening of jamming out an instrumental rock clip on my PRS McCarty (Custom 5), using the Recto model on the Vox.
I hope this works!

This download hasn't been cleared yet. Please check back tomorrow.quot;
Aw man, I've been messing with this dumb website all damn night trying to get the song to load. I think it said that the administrator needs to clear it first. Oh well, try it tomorrow!
Damn, that Vox actually sounds pretty good!
Killer tune, very very groovey, and awesome playing!
I really liked the phrasing during the solo, and the tone kicked ass. That said, Joe, you've passed your Bogneritis onto me...I have bad GAS for an Uberschall and a 1x12 Cube.
Cool. Glad you liked it. I guess that means it's up and running on Soundclick.
Yeah, the tones I like out of the Vox are usually the Recto and the clean models. The Marshall models aren't quite there on modeling amps yet.
I put this song together in about 3 hours, and it's pretty much groovy rock with a strange industrial beat. My playing styles are all over the map, from blues to slide guitar, to metal, so I was in a distortion mood tonight.
I just went direct from the Vox straight into the board. It seems to sound a lot smaller on tape than it does in front of the 4-12 cab, so I may try it with a mic pre next time. I really wish I could record using my tube amps, but my studio's in an apartment with thin walls, so I'll have to wait till it's back in a commercial space.
I'm telling you man, there's a house up the street from me for sale, with plenty of studio room....
I like Ventura, but if I moved there, I'd have to find a new job, and that house on your street is probably over $400,000. I need a real career for that!

Not here.
Sune, I streamed it.Originally Posted by GearjoneserI like Ventura, but if I moved there, I'd have to find a new job, and that house on your street is probably over $400,000. I need a real career for that!
I know what you mean...
But Christ, 400?? I think they want 8, and it still needs updating. Damned cost of living.

Just listened to it, it's got a cool groove, I'm not digging the tone that much though (I'm more of a Marshall guy), but overall it's friggin good.
Good stuff!
that middle riff sounds very familiar to me...oh yea.. lords of the boards haha
nice clip jonesy
I have one question about Soundclick. Can you rearrange the order of your songs, or are you stuck having them in order of the most recent at the top?
i think you can rearange them.. you have to go to the options of your profile, there you can add/delete the songs and change their order too, as far as i remember
Thanks! When I add more songs, I want to put them in order. I'm on a dialup, so loading songs is like watching grass grow!
o.O
dial ... up? what's that?
Was the bass part of the backing track?
There are elements of the guitar sound I really liked, but I prefer a drier tone myself.
The song itself is a great workaround to the backing track. The bend at the end of the 'verse' section is great; right to pitch. The mix is really good, too.
I put a real bass over the drum track I got out of my Boss DR-770. I didn't want to fuss with outboard reverb, so I just a used a little from the Vox amp. The end delay is from my Line 6 pedal. I can hear a few spots where I'm not right in the pocket, but I did it at low volume at night with just a few punches on one track. I played most of it in one take all the way through. The solo is still on the same track as the rhythm guitar.
Not knocking the track at all; you can hear that the skill level is high, especially since it's all one take.
Cool clip! I wish I'd hear you play this on your XTC or Silver Jubilee one day.
