Finally, my golden axe is finished. I have shown you some pictures before, where it wasn't completely finished, but now it finally is. And of course, paypal decided to give me a limit on my money transfers, so now I have to pay them for raising the limit, so I can transfer the rest of the money, lame!!! It'll take 3-4 business day's extra, I can't wait much longer.
Here's some pictures, in GOOD quality;
And one of the headstock alone:
Remember, you can resize them when you view them, if they're too big. My favourite picture is where you see the whole guitar, just look at that maple top on that particular picture! Looks killer, IMO. It just depends on getting the right light for the pictures.
That is a mad looking axe. How does it play?
I wish I knew yet, because of paypal I have to wait some days before I can make the final payment, and then I'll receive it in 3-5 days, this is just pictures of the final product, and as soon as I actually receive it, I'll tell you how it plays.
Hallo Sune,
Say, that's one mighty fine looking piece. Are you in a jazzband ?
Who made it for you ?
adjø,
V!N
Very nice looking. Is is maple/mahogany? Who is the builder?
No, I am not in a jazzband
why did you think that??
Originally Posted by big_blackVery nice looking. Is is maple/mahogany? Who is the builder?
The body is mahogany, the neck is maple and the fretboard is ebony.
The builder is a guy called Giuseppe Coppola, with a little luthier company called quot;Es Guitarsquot;, I think he's the only man working there, so he has no other employees. It's not a big corporation or anything (therefore cheaper prices also, because he doesn't really have any competitors).
He has made guitars for Anders Nyström of Katatonia, Bloodbath, etc. and for a guy called Martin Christian, from a german power metal band called Paragon.
The guitar he made for Anders Nyström is the same model as I chose, but my model has some slight differences. The pickups are different, the painting, the way the tuners are installed, etc.
You can check out his site at www.esguitars.com
Damn, he's such a nice guy, he said he will send it anyway, so I don't have to wait extra days, and then I can just transfer the rest of the money when I get the paypal code, because he trusts me. What a nice guy, you rarely find guys like him on the internet. He updates you pretty often on the stuff you have ordered from him, and he's always open to discussion of different things regarding the guitar you want, etc. Besides I got some extra stuff with the guitar, for free. Gigbag, t-shirt etc.
That headstock is killer.

It's the exact same shape as the body, just reversed.
That is very cool. I like how the tuners are staggered like that. Very different.
What color of stain/clear coat is that guitar?
Nice looking guitar and that is all I have to say about that. Me like!!!!!
Actually I have no idea as to what exactly the stain/clear coat or what you wanna call it is called. I just told him I wanted a kind of dark translucent finish, and that's what I got, but, if you really wanna know, I could ask him.
Looks terrific! You don't play jazz? Country then? How much did it set you back? Make some clips when you get it!
I can't make any clips, I have no recording gear.
