Got me a new Fender USA Highway 1 Stratocaster on friday! Its the honey blonde with a maple neck.... very nice and comfortable guitar to play. The satin finish really helps out on these guitars, as i notice that these guitars do seem to have a little more resonance than some other quot;gloss coatedquot; guitars like it. The pickups are nice also.... full and thick sounding, and very quot;strattyquot;. Overall a very nice guitar. And to top it off... it does have quot;original contour bodyquot; on the end of the headstock meaning that it's contoured like Strats of the early days. Very nice!!!

Does your Highway 1 have 3 single coils and is their a hum cancelling in postions 2 and 4 on the 5 way switch? I have picked up a few Highway Ones that didn't have the reversed Middle pickup for hum cancelling.. Maybe odd ball strats but i have played a couple like that....

As for the hum cancelling thing, I read a review somewhere, maybe about two years back, that said that the Highway 1's don't have the RWRP middle pickup. I've never plugged any H1's into an amp to play though, so I wouldn't know anything about that.

Sounds awesome, I love Strats more than pretty much anything else....glad to see someone else gettin in on the fun.

I'm pretty sure most or all Fender Strats have the original contour body...in fact i think the original contour body is what makes a Strat a Strat...but uhhmm i don't know anything.

H1 Strats look real good, I want to play one though!

As for the pickups, the middle isnt RWRP, I have no clue why, that's the only downside to me.

The H1 Has features I love, it's American/Mexican built, it has a Vintage Synch Trem, yo ucan see the grain through the paint, mmmmm (I'm talking about the h/s/s BTW) Post pics!!

Congrats! The H1s are fantastic guitars for the price. Very comfortable and sound very much like I'd expect a vintage strat to sound. I don't know why the middle pickup isn't RWRP either, but frankly, it never really bothered me.

What exactly is Mexican about the HWY1s? I know the elctronics are not the same you would find in a MIA Standard, but everything else that I know of is purely MIA.

I love strats... they are my fave...Yes and it is the contours whic i love the best and the smooth curves unlike the pointed ones u find in mant other double cut away guitars...

The electronics are mostly Mexican as well as hardware I beleive. Check Fender Europe's Fender files and see if it mentions what is Mexican and Amer.

Hey people! Just got my guitar back from the local tech today. I had it set up the way i like it....with a set of .10's, flush bridge mount to the body, and i also added a set of aged white knobs and pickup covers. Almost a perfect match to the honey blonde finish!!! Very cool looking.

Someone asked if these guitars have RWRP middle pickups. I don't think they do, but i do notice a reduction in any noises when in the 2 and 4 positions, but really that feature never really meant alot to me, as long as the guitar is generally quiet. lol

BTW, does anyone have any idea why the .jpg's from my digital camera won't upload to my threads here? I really wanna post some pics!!FenderBender03
