I have the classic stack singles in the middle and neck of my jackson. I love the way these things sound clean or pushed but they really don't give enough output to pull off a good singing solo. So I've sorta decided on either the jb jr. or lil screamin deamon. How do these sound in middle or neck positions? and no I don't want to get a hot rails.
Come on, give in to the peer pressure.....You know you want a hot rails....
I'm really not familiar with any of those in the neck or middle. I had a JB Jr in the bridge of my old guitar, but I've always figured it was just a bridge pickup. I don't know how it would sound in the neck or middle. I guess I'm not much help.
Don't forget about the Hot Stacks.
Yeah it is supposedly for bridge but I've heard plenty of people talk about putting them in middle and neck.
I've always been a fan of trying pickups and stuff in ways that they're not meant to be used. You're right, there are people out there that have tried it. I'm curious to hear what they say.
Also, isn't it strange that the only people replying to you have Otto in their avatars?
very strange indeed... well I should have done better research as there are neck models of the jb jr. and demon I think they're just a little less common. I looked at the hot stack as well I just wish it had a little more output.
Wil the new pickups be going together with the EMG in the bridge? If that's what you're planning on doing, you might want to look at the EMG SA's. I have them in my strat, and they do great cleans and have awesome high gain tones.
