I think I have it narrowed to two cards. The audiophile 2496 and the emu 0404.

The emu has 1/4quot; inputs and outputs, the audiophile has rca ins and outs. Looks like both are 24/96 cards. I prefer 1/4 inputs i guess, but dont have a problem using a rca to 1/4quot; adapter.

Its hard to make a decision, but I want to make one by tomorrow night. 2 day shipping means I have it in time for the weekend.Im looking at recording guitar through a behringer vamp.

The v-amp has midi in and out, can this be used for recording purposes? If so does it work well? Both cards have midi inputs , so that is not a deciding factor.

I guess I'm looking for the best sound quality/driver compatibility between the 2. Searching the internet had led me to absolutely no direct comparisons.

Is it worth the extra $80 to step up to an audiophile 192?

Are these recording cards to be used in conjuction with a normal sound card?
