Hey. My band just finished off a little demo we've been working on. This was recorded in my basement with about $300 worth of gear and a computer. Enjoy!Boris - Stand Up: from : localhost/www.digitalsoundplanet.com/Me..._000026881.mp3

Whoa~!!! That is really really good! I dug it. Had a really laid-back, lounge feel to it, yet it was upbeat enough to be completely interesting. Tone was awesome, beautiful progression, singer is divine, and it is just plain great! I'd love to hear more tunes from your band.

The singer sounds like Nelly Furtado.

There's something about quot;Stand up, listen to what I sayquot; - that's harmonically wrong! lol ... I don't know what but the vocals should be hitting a minor third and not a major third I THINK...

LOVED THE SONG!!! This is a winner guys! Love the progression, the funky bass, the vocals. Its all very good!

Great song! Keep posting. Love it, I think the guitar tone could be a bit brighter - but that's it.

I'm diggin' it, I wish my band could sound more like that, I'm tryin' to get them away from the high gain metal stuff and to jam ona few more bluesy and jazzy songs
Keep up the good work.

Rock On

Yeah, I did the guitars on that tune with an Ibanez RG 520 using the hot coil from the neck and bridge pickups combined. Not really the greatest funk guitar, but now I have a Reverend Slingshot Custom (p-90s) which you'll be able to hear on other tracks when I post em. About Lyndsay's vocal harmonies, I just let her loose on the track and told her to do whatever she liked, and I kept everything. I dig the way that harmony sounds, but it isn't the obvious choice there. For those of you who want to check out more tunes, is on the way.

Nice song dude... maybe could be even better if the bass used slapping techs the guitar beeing a bit louder.. imo

Yeah, there are still mixing issues. These aren't final versions or anything, but my bass player will NOT be using slap techniques, because slapping is a lame trick to make things funky used by every lame bass player known to man. We are not your cheese funk.

/rant.

Cool vibe, and good songwriting. Two CD's you should get, just to give you more musical and vocal ideas for your band is Joan Osborne 'Relish' and Natalie Merchant 'Tigerlily' Your singer reminds me of a younger Joan Osborne, vocally.

Thanks man! Glad you can feel it. I apprecaite the suggestions. I don't really know how my singer got to sound like she does. She likes stuff like Metric, Nina Simone and the Beatles. Whatever, I don't question it. I'll check that stuff out though.
