i know rondomusic.com used to carry a copy. i'm looking for any strat with this style bridge. you guys know of any?

Not really, unless you build one out of parts. TOM bridges require a 10 degree angle in the neck pocket, which is probably why you don't see them too often on Strats.

You could also recess the TOM instead of gong with the 10 degree angle. I am considering experimenting with that. I would love to have a TOM on the next strat I build.

Yep, strats should come with TOM bridges.... says I, all powerful moi.

I wanted a Strat with a TOM so bad I built a Warmoth...and still ended up just getting a hardtail. Oh well it still rocks..

I've always wondered why Fender's never made one. At least they haven't to my knowledge anyway. I know I'd play my Strat alot more if it had a t-o-m bridge on it. I hate their bridges. They're just uncomfortable to me.

on the LPF they say LPs only have like 4-5 degrees of neck angle.

I'm just the opposite. I'm way more at home with a Fender style low profile bridge. It was quite an adjustment to learn how to palm mute a TOM. I still say if you are gonna build a hardtail, go sting-through or go home!

whoah! 10 degrees? When I had warmoth angle the neck pocket for a TOM, they only did somewhere in the 1 - 3 degree range.

Maybe I'm wrong, 10 degrees might be a bit much. I'll have to look it up in my Dan Erlewine book.

Edit: 2 degrees for a Warmoth body.
I think the angle varies depending on the guitar style

Hi Ryan -

IIRC the 10 degrees more likely refers to the headstock angle, not the neck pocket. I don't think I've ever heard of a neck pocket needing more than a 5 degree angle - usually more like 2-4 degrees.

How about a Thinline Tele with a T.O.M.? Take a look at the TC 90 Tele. Set neck and a TOM.

Then there's the Steve Morse model by Music Man.

Chip

Rick Derringer had an old Strat that he put a TOM on...I personally don't see the point but what ever works for you guys...in truth if a Strat did not have a tremolo I wouldn't play one
