hey guys,
i'm modding my epi les paul and i've pretty much got all the stuff except for pots.
what does the 250k/500k mean which ones better? or how do they differ in tone, etc
also
i've decided to go with CTS pots and i want ones that allow me to split the humbucker.
However, i've been checking sites like allparts.com and there are so many different types im just confused.
500K Push/Pull Audio Pot, 3/4quot; Long Threaded Bushing, CTS, Split Shaft, SPST, is that what i get?
do i get 2 push/pull pots and just 2 normal ones?
Sorry, i'm a complete newbie when it comes to modifying guitar so thanks,
any help appreciated.

also, in terms of tuners, i've decided for the grover rotomatics with a ratio of 18:1
is that alright or is 14:1 better, i'm not sure which one is for finer tuning.
also, i've gone for the orange drop 0.22 caps, what exactly do they do?.
The 18:1 is a finer ratio than 14:1, so it allows tuning in smaller increments, but you need more turns when you are winding the strings on when you change them.
If you want to split the pups and your guitar is fairly dark, then push/push or push/pull audio 500s are what you need for the volumes.
Personally, I find that push pull are a right pain on stage when you are hot and sweaty, push/push just need a quick tap and you are there. Contrary to what you might hear, you can easily see when a push/push is up and when it is down with most brands, there is at least a 5mm difference in height.
Can't help you with the tone pot values, other people on the forum can make better suggestions than I can especially if they have a similiar set up.
Have fun.
