Hey guys. For the audition CD i have to send in to UNH, I have to use a song off of a CD from a Book by Jamie Aebersold, from those learn/play-along CD and Book sets. Is anyone familar with these books. It's just standard sheet music but he writes the song out in sections and stuff. The song I've chosen is a blues song and he has it in 3 parts, A, B and C. A says Melody, B says Play 5 choruses, and C says Play 3 Choruses. Each part has 12 bars. Can anyone explain this setup to me? I gotta get this song down ASAP, I am actually behind on the due date for the CD, it didnt even say anywhere on the application that I had to send one in so I don't even know how I was supposed to find that out. And does anyone have any suggestions for soloing techniques over dominant sventh, minor seventh, minor seven flat five, major seven add nine, and major seventh chords? The progression isn't a standard blues progression, it's really more Jazz than anything else IMO, and I HATE this type of quot;bluesquot;. I'm a I IV and V progression guy for blues. I'm just thinking of major pentatonic, altering the minor pentatonic to major, and trying to solo over each chord by playing it's taarget notes, which TADA, leads you o Jazz. Whatever, can anyone help me out? lol.
