i am currently building a strat with an ash body and rosewood/maple neck. it will have a h/s/s setup. i was wonderin what would be the best pickup combo to get a classic rock sound like led zeppelin and to also be able to get a southern rock sound like lynyrd skynyrd or the allman brothers. thanks.

texas specials or Fat 50's (bluesy) and a SD '59 for classic stuff.

SSL-1 for mid amp; neck.....'59 bridge.

That's the first thing I thought of too. But it is an ash body so the high end could get ice-picky.

Perhaps a APS-1 in the neck and mid and a PG? For a bit warmer tone.

Don't forget if you have a trem. to get a trembucker. If the poles not lining up didn't bother you I would tell you to definitely go with an Alnico 2 Pro in the bridge. It would balance out well, and be nice and warm.
