Well last night I rewired my tele with vintage cloth push back wire, and installed my A2 broadcaster bridge pup, and my 5/2 neck pup
SD Alnico 2 Broadcaster Bridge---On the box it says STL-1B, then the floor shop custom model 084556. On the pup's copper baseplate (just like the old teles) it has 051613 STL-1B 1089. It looks like a standard tele pup but the polpieces are the darker A2 magnet color, it has a copper plate like the originals with the SD logo carved on it. It has vintage cloth push back wire and is wound to 8.2K (hotter than stated on the site). This pup has a nice full sound but can do the tele twang without the ear shattering brightness due to its A2 mags. Turn down the tone and it fattens up very nicely
SD Five-Two---This neck pup was originally a custom shop pup. It has Alnico 5 mags on the low strings for the more bouncy bassier sound, and Alnico 2 on the 3 high strings for a smoother less ear shattering ice picky sound. The pup is reverse wound Reverse polarity so that the middle position is hum cancelling, and is wound to 7.9-8.0K. This pup is very balanced. Strummed chords sound great, as do riffs. It has the signature boxy tele neck pup sound, for better or ill. I've thought about taking the cover off and putting cloth tape on it and seeing how I like that. It has a spike on the high G and A on the G string. Can't decide how I like that yet.
Keep in mind, I'm still on the honeymoon with these pups, more to come in about a week.
