Just looking for suggestions for a neck pickup for my strat that has a Duncan Custom in the bridge. More specifically, I'm looking for a single coil-sized humbucker for the neck. I’m looking for something that I can turn up and tear into, but also get a nice clean tone at low volumes as well.

I was thinking a Little ’59 or Cool Rails, but all suggestions are welcome?

The little 59 and the cool rails are very similar. They should both very well in the neck with the custom.

cool rails freakin rock!!

How exactly does the cool rails freakin rock!!
Details Please...

From the bridge position, the Cool Rails has the quot;twangquot; that's typical of the physics of that position, while at the same time, provides the bottom end that the bridge sometimes misses. It's the perfect Strat bridge pup.

Keep in mind . . . I haven't tried a Twangbanger yet. They say . . . it's better.

Hot Rails still sounds the closest to a neck humbucker. Also, the JB Jr neck. I'd go for one of those 2.

How does the Hot Rails sound clean? Is it only good for high volume?

Actually, the Hot Rails sounds good when clean. I'm not the biggest fan of Hot Rails bridges, but the necks really do a good job of emulating a neck humbucker. And the best attribute of the Hot Rails neck is the singing highgain solo tone. It really has a lot of sustain.
