Has anyone else played one of these things? I was in the music store with a buddy the other day, lookiing at guitars I couldn't afford and I pulled one of these off the wall (black'/red sunburst) . . . the fretwork was perfect, the neck was comfortable and fast, and it had all the pickup switching options that you could ever need! All of this for only 400$ (Canadian)! I know that the pickups need replacement, but I think this is a good guitar . . . I was recommending it to my buddy (who is dead set on getting a LP style guitar . . .), but just wondering if anyone knows of any problems with them?

I'm in love with the way they look. They play nice too. I bet with new pickups they would sound great. I'd toss a set of Phat Cats in there.

Im not much for Ibanez guitars at all, and in truth the neck is not my thing but, there is one at a local used shop here in town...it has a stock neck pup and a 59 in the bridge...it sounds smokin!

I think they're cool.

They looked sort of cool, but they felt really cheap to me; to each his own I guess.

Guitar Center here is selling one for $174, clearance.

If they came out with a Japanese or prestige model, i'd buy one in a second.

does it have the ibanez wood plank neck?

I had a thread about these almost exactly a year ago:

Ibanez Jetking

I didn't end up buying one, but I still think they're cool. The Butterscotch one is nice also. I liked the coil splitting switchs, and the overall feel.

If the price is coming down on these, I may have to snag one.
