I need to order a new pickguard for my strat this week, as I'm converting it to a dual humbucker setup. I'm considering going with a different color, but I can't quite decide. If nothing else I'll fall back on white pearl, but I wanted to see what other people thought would be cool/terrible. I've considered black pearl, silver pearl, and silver/blue shell (pictured in that order below).

Now for the other guard colors:If anyone has any other ideas, run 'em by me!

that silver blue pearl looks the best of those 3 (IMO) and I think it looks way better than the regular pearl.

I'd be more inclined to either go with a white pearl or a chrome pickguard for a black Strat though.

Have you considered a blue or red pearloid? Or maybe tortoiseshell?

None of those really tickle my fancy on this blue/green body. It's a satin finish, gunmetal blue, and looks either blue or green depending on the light. A plain white or maybe a brushed metal guard of some kind could look cool though.

Dark purple perloid. No contest.

Blue mirror pickguard if you want to go expensive.

I'm actually thinking a simpler guard may be in order, none of these flashy ones really seem to mesh very well with the color. Maybe just a 3-ply white/black/white.

Okay, that makes sense. It looked black to me in the shots. Maybe something with some silver? Check out Terrapin Guitars' website. They've got some interesting shell colors.

Fretfire, I had a Black peral pickguard laying around here and I threw it on top of that body and it looks quite tasty. I think the Silver blue shell (the one on the bottom picture) might be a tad better choice though!
