I put the mic about 2 feet away from the speaker cabinet and cranked it up a bit

I'll be happy to take the blame for that
rockin!
Very cool tone, man that combo just drives relentlessly. What mic? I have really gotten into of speaker mic placement, love what it adds.

Rockin' Stevo! I like the crunch with a hint of a damp (not wet) blanket tone ala Brian May...or maybe it's my cheap headphones...LOL Good stuff as always bro.
Ha! Now you really makes me want to crank it up... my next one will be rockin' the house!
Great tone and playing... pure Stevo signature style!
Man . . . loved the quot;grindyquot; rythm. I guess thats what it was. The heavy, opening part.
mmmmmmmmtone......... like it man.
When you say Custom pickup, you mean the SD Custom?

It is a big change as I was historically always into close miced amps. I feel that I hear more of the sound this way instead of an isolated representation from just a few inches away.

Yes it's the SD quot;Customquot;, with the ceramic magnet. I should have clarified I have demo'd a few Custom shop pickups also.. thanks for the question.
