If we do any wah mods from this point on,we'll have to use the Dunlop Fasel inductors...This is a shame since the Fulltone inductor was my favorite...The Red Fasel is a decent inductor, but still not as good as the Fulltone... Maybe I'll just not do wah mods anymore quot;CLYDE wah Inductor
NO LONGER AVALABLE as of 3/31/05, NO EXCEPTIONS NO EMAILS. We need every one due to a high demand for our wah pedalsquot;.
que pena....
that sucks man.....ah well....hey Strat, I had an idea for my old crybaby pedal...
I want to turn it into an overdrive pedal...rip the guts out of it and put in the guts for an overdrive pedal...add a level knob to the right and a tone knob to the left and use the treadle as a gain control...so that when it's heel down it's almost a clean boost, but toe down it's all out overdrive/distortion...any ideas?

No ideas? LOL

I have ideas.
GuitarElectronics.com sells the SD SFX-01 in circuit board form. Use that as a base. Send the output through a voltage divider, (two resistors), or a pot. Adjust the pot so that the output level is the same with pedal engaged or not. Now use your foot-pedal to control the SFX-01's gain control.
Should work.
John, is there somthing unique about the Fulltone inductor? Couldn't we just measure its inductance and get another?
An inductor should just be an inductor.
NO NO NO!!!

Artie....The unique thing about the Fulltone inductor was that it was an exact copy of the original inductor used in the first series of Vox wahs..This would have been the Vox Clyde McCoy Picture wah...None of the other inductors I've tryed, get the wah to sound as good..Sorry to say this again Artie, but it's more wah voodoo....

Ah . . . I see. Still, it would be interesting to measure one, in say . . . a Navy calibration lab, to see how it stacks up.

it's not just the inductance reading Artie, but like a pickup, the way it's wound, the materials, and the way the inductor reacts with the circuit is why it works so great...I have 1 inductor left and I'll be keeping that one for myself...LOL
Damn that sucks!!!
quot;We need every one due to a high demand for our wah pedalsquot;.
BS He just doesn't want people using his inductor to make kick-ass wahs
That sucks, just when I was starting to get things rolling on sending a wah to you in a few weeks John! Ah well, I'll still do it, if you're still doing wahs .

quot;Exactlyquot; and Teese did the same thing with his pots and inductors...That's ok though...I Own 4 wahs and 3 of them has a Fulltone inductor in them and 1 has the Teese stuff...I'll wait for people to really want some and then I'll get like $100 for 1.....LOL
The Fasel inductors are ok,but the Fulltone one is better....I can still do all the cool mods, but we'd have to use the red fasel inductor instead..I'd tell people to just buy the Fulltone wah now though...

See if you can find a fulltone inductor,if not,get a red Dunlop Fasel instead....it's still better than the stock 847 inductor, plus there's all the other mods..
Thanks for the link!
What about that guy that has HALO replicas?

I just bought 2 Fulltone pots for myself in the event that quot;Mike Fullerquot; quits selling the wah pots...Teese used to sell pots and inductors and no longer does...I'm going to start a secret stash on these items now for the future...
