I know BachToRock is willing to make hybrids for some forum members. Does anyone else here offer this service?
Anybody with a soldering iron, screwdriver, and two pickups could do it

If you know how to solder...which I don't.
So are you offering?

BackToRock and I struck a deal for 2 hybrids. Waiting to hear back from him with a shipping address to get the ball rolling.
I'm asking about others because I could potentially be doing this fairly regularly as I've been building guitars. (Have 3 in the works right now). Then again, If I'm going to be building guitars I should probably learn to solder. LOL!

I'd put this pretty high on the priority list
uh...thanks JB.
Anyone else?

It's not rocket science and soldering isn't hard at all. Just practice tinning, soldering and unsoldering some scrap wire before you go digging into a pickup.
I can do it.
You supply the pups, I'll make it happen for you.
PM me if your interested.
Trevor
unless you have two ibanez pickups, they are unmoddable as everything is superglued and electro-duct taped together
Hybrids are fairly easy. Its just important that you be patient and take your time.
The you have to be very gentle with the lead wires and careful with the soldering iron... it is easy to short out a pickup with too much heat or break the lead wires from the coil when removing the existing tape.
I can do it for european bros... you supply the pickups
Shipped a '59 and Custom to BachToRock Saturday. Can't wait to hear these puppies.

Pete's the quot;Hybrid Manquot; and you'll love the Hybrid..
So what is the process here exactly? Does color play a role (I am color blind)?

It might?
Is there a tutorial with pics anywhere on the net that walks you through this operation?
I've built amps amp; pedals from scratch, been wary of modding pickups - those are TINY leetle wires. I'd like to see a good hires photo of a pickup 'naked' before I take this on.
I have a couple nickel covered Dean HBs that need something...else they'll stay on the shelf forever.

Yes...
from : localhost//forum/s...ghlight=hybrid
Very easy. Just did my first two. Only two wires to desolder per coil. I have lighted 6quot; magnifing glass which is a godsend for tinkering. Cause you're right, those are some tiny wires!
