NOS and great price. 2004 model for only $1600, EL34's.....but no reverb. And there the deal died.
Sounds like a killer deal!! Buy a reverb pedal if you like reverb that much. I'd personally like it to not have reverb...then I'd throw some delay on it.
If you keep looking, you'll eventually run into the version that has separate reverb for each channel. It's a nice feature, since you can have one channel sounding like a Twin Reverb, while the OD channel is a little drier sounding.
If you're paying big bucks for an amp, it may as well be exactly the one you want.
Eh....hold out for the reverb.
I bought my Trace Elliot over a year ago knowing it didn't have reverb. It was annoying to have to add another pedal to the mess.
When I saw one come up with reverb for about the cost of what I'd paid for mine plus the reverb pedal it was a no-brainer. I play the amp all the time.
I've been shiva-jonesin myself lately.. but I may just hold out for the Ecstasy
If I could ask Bogner to build an amp, it'd be an Ecstasy 101B 50 watter w/3 reverb knobs on the back...one for each channel. Only in a perfect world!
Joe,
You seem to know a good bit about Bogner stuff...if you like the Ecstasy but only need/want 2 channels which Bogner do you go for?

I'm considering that as well. If I'm spending that kinda cash, I want exactly what I want next time out.
The Shiva is a great two channel amp, that's got 2 EL-34's, but they pound those tubes into 80W! Also, some Shivas have reverb, whereas the Ecstasy doesn't. The Ecstasy has a great series/parallel FX loop with send and return knobs, though. The Ecstasy almost seems like a modeling amp, in that you can get the tone of any EL-34 amp there is and spread them across 3 very tweakable channels, with boosts. The Bogner sound can best be described as a Swiss Army Marshall that sounds as big as two Marshalls in stereo.
The Shiva is very much a great amp too. The clean is a little glassier like a Fender, whereas the Ecstacy is more like a superclean Marshall. The Shiva's gain channel tries to cover about as much ground as the Ecstacy's blue and red channels. If I didn't have my amp, I'd be perfectly happy owning a Shiva EL-34 Reverb head. Not everyone really needs 3 channels and 120W.
Another great thing about Bogner is that even when running at lower volumes, it has that sound of a Marshall turned up. At the same volume, most other EL-34 amps sound grainier and thinner. The first thing you notice when you plug into a Bogner is the signature 'broad shouldered growl.' And, a hint of compression that makes the highs never sound harsh.
Man, Gearjonser, you could be a Bogner rep, you get me jonsing for a Bogner everytime.

Jeez, maybe I should go down and apply! Bogner is 5 miles from where I work now! Since Duncan didn't hire me, maybe Bogner will.
