fender put a qp in his signature bass

but fundamental to his sig sound is the badass2 bridge and the all maple neck. they give more thump to his sound

listen to his sound. is it a vintage pickup or a quarter pounder?
besides, he has stated in many a interview that he uses the quarter pounder, he is listed under the artist in the products page under the QP...
not saying he never used the vintage one, but his main sound is the QP. the signature bass is a total replica of his own P-bass. (the maiden boys were quite involved in the making of their signature guitars and i'm sure he wouldnt miss that quite significant detail)
besides, many people have had a custom shop pickup made and used it, but it is not their main pickup. take slash for example. he has a CS A2P pickup, but uses off the shelf A2P's

wtf is it with you and that link?

check players.
if you only go by that link you know jack ****. i'm sorry to say it so blunt, but it takes a little more research than that. and believe me, on this forum there is maybe a couple that knows their maiden better than me, so dont argue noob
I've got a P-bass with a QP SPB 3 (maple neck) and yet I can't get the Steve Harris sound.
What's more, in various pics you can see that the pickup he uses is not always a QP.
Therefore, I think he has used QP since the '90s while before he was using the vintage pickup. IMHO.
#1 what amp do you use
#2 what are the settings on your amp
#3 do you use flatwound strings
#4 what cab do you haveyou wont get such a strong bass sound out of a solid state combo. he's used ampeg and marshall amps, with a strong mid and trebble and has a distinct, STRONG finger style.
his sound has always been about loud.
but, even if you have all that, it's only wood, plastic, metal and wires (with some glass thrown in) a lot of it is in the fingers and the style

I use Rotosound flatwound strings 050-110;
I use amp Marshall with a strong mid
I play with a strong finger style
what marshall is that? half stack? full stack? seriously. to get close to his sound you have to move so much air it's not even funny anymore
