I'm replacing the stock pups in my Schecter with a Jazz/Custom set. I want to be able to coil split both of them, so I'm replacing the tone pot that I never use with a push-pull pot. The push-pull will split the neck pickup, and I want turning the pot to gradually shut off one of the coils on the bridge pickup. This is what I'm working off of:First off, why does it have green going to the volume pot? Isn't green normally ground?
Second, is it showing a solder point right in the middle of the green wire? What's that all about?
Third, it seems to have the ground from the tone pot ALSO going to the volume pot...
Lastly, do I just set up the neck pickup with black going to the switch, green and bare going to ground, and red and white set up on the push-pull just like it were a mini toggle switch?
I'm sooo confused!
Green questions are just demonstrating grounding- You could ground green anyway that works if it doesn't add noise-
Not clear on your 2nd question- For traditional spin, green and bare go to ground black goes to switch (or whatever is hot in current) and red and white ground out (on SD pups)-
Just wanted to be sure you are talking about 1 pup per roll off btw- You can also do this with multi pups, but it's a different conversation and we can talk about it if you go that route (truly cool, but you have to think it over)
The green wire is soldered to the back of the pot. I touched-up everything thats ground in green:

Yes, sorta. Red and white connect together and go to the center lug of one side of the push/pull pot. The lug right above that, (closest to the pot), goes to ground also.
Thanks, that makes sooo much more sense now. Everything that they have soldered to the back of the pot, I can just solder to the ground wire that goes to the bridge stud, correct?
I'm pretty sure I get this now.
The black wire from each pup goes to the 3 way switch, the red and white from each pup go to the split pot (neck to push-pull, bridge to roll off). Green and bare get grounded. Nothing goes directly between the two pots, and the signal goes from the switch to the volume pot to the jack.
Thanks!
