What would it sound like if I changed the 100k pots to 250k on a hot strat live wire set ?
YOu wouldn´t notice much of a differencce because of the buffereing of the active Circuit (Same principle behind running EMG pups on quot;normalquot; 250 or 500k pots)
You MAY have a minimally brighter signal (measurable, but not necessarily audible), and the pot won´t quot;sweepquot; correctly anymore, the fiirst half turn or so you likely won´t notice anything at all anymore....
I have a strat with the livewire set with 250k pots. They are a bit bright and the initial attack is a little clanky and brittle. They work well for the tone though. I would like a 100K for the volume to smooth out the initial attack but I can't find anywhere that sells them. I would also like a hot for the bridge because I think the bridge is underpowered compared to the neck and middle.

SnowdogIf you put a 166K resistor or something close to this and solder it across the outside terminals on your volume pot you will have a 100K
