I've been looking into neck pups via the tone chart. Here's what I came up with:
Pup Mag Res B/M/T Notes (maybe)
Seth II 7.2 6/4/8 Vintage to the max
PG II 7.3 6/5/9 Snarl/sizzle
59 V 7.4 6/3/8 Classic
Full Sh V 7.4 4/4/8 For low tuned/dark - ultra articulate
A2P II 7.6 7/4/8 woman tone creamy
Jazz V 7.7 5/3/9 Big and clear
*Demon V 10 5/4/9
This basically leads me to the following conclusions -
1. Based on resistance, Seth is the mildest, followed by PG, 59, and Jazz is loudest
2. For bass, go A2P. For treble go Jazz/59. For scoop go Jazz/A2P/59. General brightness, Full Shred. Best mids, PG.
3. Mags: V's have less mids and more output.
* I've added the Demon just as an interesting note. It sort of bridges the gap between neck and bridge on resistance. It looks a lot like a kicked up 59/PG
Let's have some discussion. Is this the players experience? Let's hear from some of you who have played a lot or most of these, or have a good outlook based on all of the threads you've seen.
i wouldnt say to go A2P for bass though......59 would be the biggest bass i think
I'm sorry I'm not contributing to the thread, but I'd me interested to hear some opinions about the '59.
