I've got 3 cool rails in my strat look alike, wired with master volume and master tone.I'd like to have the option to split them as single coils useing push/pull pots but keep the master vol and tone.Anyone have a easy to follow diagram for this
you can split two pups on one switch. to do three i think you need two push pulls.
you could do the neck and middle on one and the bridge on the other or ????
which way would you like it setup?

Hi...Can you do it useing 3 push pulls but only wire up 2 for master vol and tone, the 3rd pot used only to split a pup.I'd rather have each pup have it's own push pull
yes you can use three seperate switches. if you arent gonna use the third pot, i might go with a switch instead. or maybe put a spin-a-split on one pup so that you can dial down the coil
If your Strat uses a standard 5-way lever switch, you can split all three with just one push/pull. You just wouldn't have individual control over them.
Run the red/white combo of each pup to the associated terminal on the unused side of the 5-way. Run the quot;commonquot; terminal of that half over to the center of the PP, and take the lug above that to ground. (Just like normal split wiring.)
Each pup will now be split when it's selected, and the PP is up.

Edit: If you saw the comment about using a SPST switch, its wrong.
To do the above requires one more connection that's a bit harder to describe. I'll post a pic when I get home tonight. The pic is floating around somewhere buried back in a very old thread, but I don't know if I can find it now.
Thanks for the help guys but i'll go with 3 push pulls 1 per pup with master vol and master tone, with only the push pull being used on the 3rd pot(keeps the strat look)
