Lol, thought that may get people interested... this goes out to those who use the V-amp (or v-ampire). What settings do you like using, and for what kind of sound? My fave is the quot;crunch V-ampquot; at around 3/4 gain, bass 3, mid 5, treble 7. Gives me a good crunch at low volume on my guitar, then turn the volume up for lead. Great rock tone, IMO - I prefer it to its JCM800 model.
Anyone else?
I can't remember my settings anymore since I sold my V-ampire, but I had many usable settings. Great cleans, through nice OD to scorching high gain tones.
for distorion, the crunchy v-amp is good. but my favorites are the clean v-amp and the black twin.

Funny you say that, I actually find myself using the quot;tube preampquot; for my cleans these days! Gives a good BRMC-type psyched out sound...
i never really tried the tube preamp that much. i guess ill have top play around with it a bit. also, i used to hate the fuzz box setting, but now that started messing around more, ive found some usefull settings.
I think it's factory preset 1c... chorus and delay, gives a very distinctive sound. play it thru your bridge pup, with lots of ringing open strings. Very spacey!
I tend to do most of my really dirty work with the Mesa, Marshall and Matchless models. For trashier, semi-dirty stuff, I like the Champ model. For cleans, it's often the Blackface. I save presets, but I amend them constantly.
I use the Soldano model and the JCM800 mostly, but I still think POD's sound a ton better, and you can have a distortion pedal modelled infrot of amps.
