... why is it that Jackson players all bash ESP for copying other people's designs, but love Jackson models like the Kelly (Explorer), King V (Flying V) amp; Warrior (more different than the others, but still very similar to a Dean ML).
While the Jacksons are altered a bit, they're still close enough to obviously not be original.
Edit- I don't mean any offense to anybody by this, it's just been something I've been wondering about for awhile. Thanks
You've got a good point. Since I haven't had much experience with ESPs, I can't and don't speak with quite the hatred for them that some have. I will say that I searched all over for the perfect guitar, and the Soloist was the one I ended up with. It has the smoothest, fastest, straightest, most articulate neck I've ever played. I also wanted a Floyd Rose original, and you know how hard they are to find on new guitars.
I couldn't bash ESP for copying, since there are so many others (including Jackson) that do. Heck, look how many strat copies there are. I know that doesn't help much, but at least you know that while everyone that owns a Jackson thinks they have the perfect guitar, at least one doesn't hate other companies for trying to build one like it.
I like both, I actually think those are the only two companies who make production guitars I like a lot!
I'm a jackson fan, and have owned multiple guitars made by both companies. I never diss on either one of 'em, but I know some people do.
Someday I hope to own a nice Jackson Rhoads again
Rock On
How could any Jackson fan (including myself) not dig my ESP Custom Shop M-II? I bought it on impulse (my first ESP) and it has been with me every since- 7 years now. It looks sick, sounds sick and plays great. I don't spend too much time worrying about who copies who... when I find a cool guitar I buy it. Jackson, ESP, even Ibanez (to a lesser extent).
