A couple of weeks ago I posted a request for suggestions for a brighter Tele neck pickup and received a number of responses. No offense intended, but I went against all of them.

I ended up putting in a Fender CS Texas Tele pickup that quot;fell into my lap, quot; and now I have the Tele sound I wanted from before I originally built the guitar. The Texas Tele neck pickup has a lot more output than the VTR that was in there before and has a Stratty quality to it. I can really feel the extra horsepower up the neck. When combined with the Broadcaster Lead pickup, that mean Tele pop and twang is right on, with a little extra warmth. Considering how good as the Texas Tele neck pickup sounds, I may have to get the bridge pickup, too, and build an Esquire to put the Broadcaster in.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I have them filed for future use.

I'm bumping a three-year-old thread.

Okay, 9 hours later. Let us in on why.

yeah, why?

if you have a question, just ask!

No question!

It was just in the little quot;related threadquot; search thingy of an active thread from the last day and I bumped it because it was real old and didn't have any replies.
