... and what a difference it makes. It's a Marshall JCM 600 2x12 combo. It came stock with a half-back. Dad and I just fabricated the other half. It makes a world of difference. The amp is way tighter and more focused now. Sounds much much better. I encourage anyone with a half-back or open cab to try it, just to see the difference. The only concern I have is potential overheating problems. The 600 line has been known to get hot, and I just cut it's internal airflow dramatically. A fan may be in order if things get too toasty.
are you saying that you closed the back on an oopen back tube combo amp?

As another guitar player and a nice guy Im telling you that it's a bad idea to do that...if you could remove some of the cab I'd suggest that! I'd take it off asap...and just before you ask an internal fan would do very little if any at all good.
