OK, with a 4 conductor wiring on the bridge hum, RW/RP single coil middle (i think it is RW/RP becaus it is humcanceling with the neck), and Single coil neck. Can I get position 2 to to be hum canceling by using one of the hums, coils (tapping?) and the middle position? If so, what do I wire?

So in theory it would be: (a * denotes noise canceling)
1 - bridge humbucker - *
2 - split bridge humbucker with middle Single coil - *
3 - Middle Single Coil
4 - Middle and Neck - *
5 - Neckalso, thanks in advance.

If you want to put the RW/RP in the middle or Neck position only depends on which coil of the HB you leave active when split.

Here's another thread about humcancelling. This one's about H-S-H, but the principle is the same.

What I'm getting is that I need to find out which (slug or screw) side of the hum will make the middle hum canceling because fender changed a few times over the years. I can figure this part out.

However, I really was wanting to know how to wire it With 1 vol, 2 tone and a five way. There is not a schematic that I've found on this site that shows this.looks like this is what you want:

It is possible to do what you are asking but it may take a little experimentation to figure out which leads of the HB to use. With the 4 conductor wiring on SD pickups and the ability to flip the magnet you can get the proper wind direction and polarity for any mid single coil regardless of which coil of the HB you want to use.

Using only the std 5 way switch for the split is not a problem but the switch will need to be re-wired. The wires that run from the 2nd half of the switch to the tone pots will have to be relocated to the side that the pickups hot leads are connected. Connect the mid tone pot to the same terminal that the mid pickups hot lead is connected and do the same for the neck tone pot to the neck pickups hot lead terminal. This will free up the second side of the switch for the split wiring.

All that is left is to determine the wind direction and polarity of the single coil in relation to the HB and then wire up the guitar. I don't carry around the polarities and wind directions for all the various pickups out there and I figure it out by wiring up the guitar and seeing what happens. If I get hum I know the wind direction is wrong and nasal indicates that the polarity is wrong.

Good luck and happy wiring.
