Hi I've noticed that there are (almost?) always two kinds of a pickup type- bridge and neck/middle I think. What are the differences between them?Only output level or something more?
Generally just output level. The strings move a lot more in the neck position than in the bridge, and this creates a lot more output, so neck pickups should ideally have lower output to balance with the bridge properly. One result of this is the neck pickup generally produces the most tone, from the extra string resonance.
And generally what happens when I put brige pickup into a neck position?
You need a pickup with even more output to keep the balance, and - depending what model you have - you have a tone that is too muddy and too loud.
And what if I put the brige pickup into the middle position? Will It still cause any problems?
