I've only a passing knowledge of Bill Lawrences various companies/pickups but my friend gave me a set of them (at least that's what I figure them to be...) to replace the stock pickups in my 80's Japanese strat.
They look identical pretty much to the l280/290s on Bills site ( from : localhost/but they've got quot;Keystone USAquot; printed on the back of them and the pickups covers have quot;Wildequot; printed in red on the front of them. I don't suppose anyone has an idea of what they are/when about they were made?
As far as I can tell Keystone was one of the names Bill Lawrence sold pickups under after selling out his stake in the original quot;Bill Lawrencequot; company, it's just confusing me as I thought quot;Wildequot; was the name of another one of his pickups companies for a time, I found it odd that it had both names on them.
Wilde, Keystone, are both the genuine article. They are the good ones. I have a set of 280's with keystone bases on them. BTW, He has changed names a number of different times. Nothing to worry about though, you have the real ones!!
