In the 90's, Fender issued 2 colors they only released in a couple years, on Strat Plus Models only. My gripe with Plusses is that I don't like metal nuts, so after aquiring the Reverse Metallic Blueburst Strat Plus, I bought a 2001 American Series Strat and Custom Shop parts, and put the blue body on it, and sold off the other body. Here's the reverse metallic blueburst/2001 neck, engine turned guard, Jazz B/2 Surfers. Total cost besides pickups I owned = $650
A couple weeks ago, I scored it's matching counterpart, the Reverse Metallic Silverburst body by itself on Ebay. This time I put the Silverburst body on a 2004 50th Anniversary Strat I bought last night for a measly $550, and again I'll sell off the 50th Anniversary body. I'll recoup about $250 for the body and stock electronics. This means this new guitar is around $500 total, besides pickups, for the only Reverse Metallic Silverburst 50th Anniversary American Strat, Fender CS Fat 50's. Behold, the only American Series Reverse Metallic duo! Sexy colours! esp. the second.

excellent looking strats man...good taste as always!!!!

sweeeeeetttt

As common as strats are, I always like really unique colors, and unfortunately, these two reverse metallic colors were two that were only issued in 91 and 96 on Strat Plusses, along with the nasty Lace Sensors and large frictionless metal nuts. I really only like the sound of plastic, bone, and graphite nuts, so I had to go to all the trouble to get those bodies onto the nicer playing American Series necks, with rolled edges.

Also, I wanted them to be 100% Am. Fender. It's so easy to put these together, since all the parts fall into place nicely, and they're a breeze to setup. I thought about going with aftermarket parts, but then I'd have more to deal with when setting them up and cutting the nuts etc. I got both of these playing and sounding really perfect. The Jazz bridge really goes good with vintage singles....too bad it's such an overlooked pickup. Jolly actually gave me that Jazz B as a gift, in order to prove what a great Duncan it is. Thanks Jolly! I owe you one!

Nice Strats!

Blueburst eh? Niiice.

Im going to need to confinscate all the items included in the first picture of the silverburst strat due to...um...fraudulant business transactions! But seriously, very nice strats man, and the rest of your setup is world class as always.

That Silverburst is one of the nicest looking Strats I think I've ever seen!!!

VERY NICE JOE!!!!

Nice strats.

I hate you.

Very nice! I especially like the first one.

I used to use Fat 50's in my sunburst strat for years, then put them away for awhile. Now that they're in the Silverburst strat, I'm reminded how good they are. I think my favorite strat pickups will always be Chubtone 63's, Fat 50's and Antiquity Surfers/Custom Ant II bridge. They all sound different, but equally good.

looks great man...i still love the blue one a bit mroe though hehe. but what happened to the hum single idea??? i feel let down

You leave your crazy, irrational hatred for the middle pickup out of this! Those guitars are teh sexxxay!!!

I thought about it for awhile, and realized I already had a humbucker in the blue one, and I wanted my new strat to be a 'strat.' A big determining factor was that I already had that black moto guard and Fat 50's. The black moto actually looks darker in person....the flashbulb makes it look more like pearl black, but it's darker. The Fat 50's sound great in it.

If I ever feel like it, I can always swap out the guards on either of them for a different configuration.

I differ from you in one way, regarding guitars. I think I like strats to be single coil guitars, like Jesus intended them to be. When it's humbucker time, it's gotta be a Paul or McCarty.

that may be the coolest looking strat ever !!!!!!!!!!!!!! way to go joe .

Thanks! A pleasant surprise was that the light alder body is a good sounding one. My friend picked it up, and immediately said quot;wow, what a perfect weight!quot; I thought the same thing as soon as it was done.

What was amazing is that Fender parts fall together so easily. After the hard work of dealing with the pickguard, the neck bolted right on, and the action and intonation was almost spot on! Fender consistency is pretty amazing. I didn't have to do much in the way of setup, just a few intonation and saddle tweaks.
