Ah, here's a dilemna. I know the policy only applies to pickups I buy directly from Duncan (at least, I logically assume it would). Problem is, a guitar I really want comes with a JB in the bridge, and I want a Full Shred. And no, the manufacturer won't change it.
Is there any way to swap this, or am I just going to have to shell out the whole price for a new pickup?
Trade it with a forum member
... But unfortunately I think that´s all, AFAIK the 21-Day real World policy only applies to new pickups and not OEM ones....
I made the swap from JB to Full Shred one time, and knew I didn't like the change. I put the JB right back in. Just my experience, but you may want to try a different step, like maybe a Custom 5, CC, Custom, or 59.
Well generally speaking, every guitar is so different that I don´t even consider changing pickups until I know exactly what it sounds like with what´s in there (ex. Dimarzios, these are immediately pulled and scrapped)... Try the JB, you may like it anyway, and if not it´s a great starting point to get your bearings on where you want to go
Thanks for the advice then. I just thought I'd see if there was a chance of swapping it while it was still new.
At the end of the day, it's probably not of vital importance anyhow. It's a pickup, and I can make it work one way or the other.
PS. GJ, that post count is ungodly :P
