Has anyone tried using a Tonelab live with a midi controller to switch patches and other parameters? I've talked to several people who say that the VC-4 foot controller is .
I'm interested in using the Tonelab with an Atomic Reactor slave tube amp but I wanna know if I can get live use out of it with a midi switcher. If not, I'll just get a Tonelab SE and wait to get some sort of power amp.
I would recommend the ToneLab SE if you want it for live use. You get a couple of useful features that are not on the desktop ToneLab (besides the built in foot switches and the expression pedals). The SE has 2 amp models per preset, which makes it easy to switch from rhythm to solo, amp; you get a pre-FX insert loop you can use for a couple of stomp boxes.
One issue I have been having and it sounds like it is a common one. I have one footswitch the does not always work. This just started up, I have not contacted Vox support yet, but my understanding is that it will be covered under warranty. I am worried about what is causing the problem, amp; how much it would cost to fix if it happens again after the warranty expires.
If you have more questions, here is a link to a ToneLab forum.

Thanks man. The only reason I was asking about the regular Tonelab was I was thinking of using it with one of those Atomic Reactor amp things and needed to know if there was a better way to switch.
