Anyone know about these? Quality and playability? How do they compare to the import Jacksons? St
reet price is around $1699 (not a bad price) for the black and red ones and $2400 for the bullseye (which is ridiculous).... from : localhost/

Thanks,

They blow the imports out of the water as far as playability and quality in general go... actually they pretty much blow anything out of the water
The bullseye is a reissue strathead aimed at collectors, and a Custom shop run to boot, so that´s not really a fair compairson ... but either way, if you can find a USA Charvel with identical specs for under 4k [b]used[b] you´re god and I want to marry you... that kind of brings the price back into perspective, as that guitar represents something more than a standard run of the mill pointy...
And 1699 for a new San Dimas pointy is highway robbery, Jackson/ Charvel guitars should be bought at or
I lt;3 Charvel
If you can afford one of those, you should buy it and tell me how awesome it it.
Rock On!!!
Didn't see any of those Charvels at Matt's or Vwall guitars site?I wasn't sure on what the price should be on those..I figured with imports approaching $1000 that $1699 with a Gamp;G case and original floyd and real duncans wasn't too bad? By the time you bought the case for the import and upgraded the pickups/bridge you might be in the same ballpark?
Steve
their sites are outdated.. you should contact them directly for any gear they have in stock
Okay...Cool...I will give them a call on Monday...
I am also working on modding a Jackson DKMGTFF, putting new pickups, sperzels and tone pro's bridge on it...Alder body....Thinking distortion and dimebucker for it? Thoughts? Has EMG afterburner preamp in it...Steve
I would kill to own some of those new Charvels..... nice axes! The only thing i do not like about the 25 aniversary Charvel is the placement of the humbucker... For me i like the humbucker a bit farther away from the bridge then that guitar offers... I think the Bullseye guitar suffers the same problem... The Charvel EVH series have the humbuckers were i like them... That close to the bridge tone is to twangy for me..

As you should any dealer of any brand, as you normally get a better deal over the phone as well Originally Posted by WhoFanI would kill to own some of those new Charvels..... nice axes! Most people never notice this, but it´s true the placement is minimally different.... but other than the EVH there will probably never be a Jackson or Charvel with quot;Standardquot; humbucker placement, as that´s one of the Jackson/Charvel Hallmarks
wait a second, if you want an original San Dimas why not go buy a Wayne Charvel guitar from the originator or these instruments??
these new Charvels look really nice but if i wanted to have something closer to the original i would go with the dude that made them in the first place.
umm.. wayne or not.. those guitars are built to exact same specs as the old charvels
and also, call me nuts, but people are really crazy about stratheads. which, you cannot get on a wayne guitar. he doesnt change his headstocks for anybody
quot;but a strathead or not doesnt affect the tone yadda yaddaquot;
read previous statement. a strathead means the guitar is going to sell. no strathead means noone is going to care about it
dont mean to diss wayne, but it really comes down to the headstock, besides, closer than the 25th anniversary's i dont think you can get, unless you buy the original.. for which i wish you good luck
just one thing.. i'm prolly going to get one next year AHAHAHAHA
ben, oooo beeen, ya hear this.. bwahahaha

Ya i guess most would never think about it... I guess i did when i started to make my own strats.... or i guess before that i really started to notice the sound difference in Humbucker placement years ago when i started to buy replacement pickguards for strats... MY expensive Pearloid pickguard from WD has the humbucker in about the same postition as the 25 Aniversary Charvel model. Don't like it and that pickguard was a waste of $75 Canadian... Tele bridges with Humbuckers are in about the same postion as this pickguard but with a tele you expect a little more twang to it so it's cool. But from a souped up strat i want more lows and mids and moving the humbucker a little bit ahead helps greatly...
Ever see a photo of Eddie's 1979ish Black and Yellow Charvel these days...? He hated the sound of that guitar and later on he found it was the humbucker placement.... These days that guitar has a newer Gold Original Floyd added to it and the trem is almost touching the humbucker....
I think the greatest thing about those old Charvels and the new reissues is the neck shape.... love it!

thats probably because he wants as much trebble from his setup as possible, cos he's half deaf

Not quite: These that guitar lies under 6 feet of soil together with the mortal remains of Dimebag Darrell as a last present from a good friend
