I purchased an LP kit from StewMac to rewire an LP. I used the following wiring schematic and followed it exact. (I installed a push pull as the neck pup tone control to split the SD Jazz. The bridge is a Duncan JB).

from : localhost//support...way-w-spl.html

I am getting a terrible ground hum in all positions. I grounded the output jack to the tone control (is this correct?). When I touch the hardware (pot shafts) the humming stops. I also grounded all pots.

Given that I get the hum regardless of switch position, I'm inclined to think it relates to the switch or output jack wiring.

I have the following questions:

1 - Is this schematic not disclosing something I may have missed?

2 - I used the following toggle switch. from : localhost/I have wired anything to the single side (in addition to the opposite side being wired to each volume pot and the middle being wired to the output jack)?

Should the 3-way swith be grounded as well?

3 - Despite following the schematic, the neck humbucker does not split.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thx-

yes the 3 way switch should be grounded.

Is your bridge grounded? There should be a wire coming from it as well

Yes. I soldered this to the neck pup vol pot.

Check your instrument cable also. It may not be a bad idea to ground both of the bottom poles of the push/pull pot.
