asking in advance because I'm not sure which nut width to order for a strat neck. Probably the standard 1 5/8.

1 11/16 on axes w/ 24 3/4 scale, amp; 1 5/8 on axes w/ 25.5 scale. amp; I'm not tellin' why.

That's usually how I roll too. longer scale axes feel weird with the wider spacing. My carvin has a 25quot; scale and 1 11/16 spacing though and it plays pretty nice.

I like the wider spacing all around.

i have a Peavey which its wider and has 24 frets, its plays wierd, but good wierd... but i like better my ibanez which has the 1-5/8 i like it better coz the strings are closer together and the whole thing feels so thight...

I prefer 1 11/16 on all electric guitars...if the neck has a fat enough profile I can deal with a 1 5/8. On acoustics I prefer a 1 3/4.

1 11/16 on everything!!! The 1 5/8 the string spacing seems too narrow for my manly hands plus, it just feels very narrow unless the neck is the size of a tree trunk. 1 5/8 is for chicks!!!!!

Depends on how much the tightee whitees shrink in the wash

what does a les paul have? That.

I like wider nuts.

1 11/16, because I like the extra space for my big hands.

I like 1 11/16 because I often play acoustic with 1 3/4... it is nice to not have too much of an adjustment.

I like 1quot; 5/8 mainly Cuz' I'm a custom to it. For many player's it feels to
cramed in for 1st postion chords. But if you play a mandolin for a while...
1'' 5/8 seems big !!

I love Vintage style guitars, mostly strats! The 1 5/8 nut width feels great to me, but saddly i also have big hands..... I can play on 1 5/8 width necks fine but it is just slightly tighter string spread then the 1 11/16th..... I sometimes find it harder to play some tunes on 1 5/8 necks. So beside 1 tele i have and a wolfgang neck that are 1 5/8's all my other guitars are 1 11/16th....

Or for people with iddy biddy paws, like ME!

I have small hands, and the smaller string spacing really agrees with me. I like the standard strat scale of 25.5 though. I'm just used to it.

Musicman guitars are the ultimate in playability for me. The nuts are 1 5/8ths but the profiles are very well shaped and I just eat that stuff up.

1 5/8 definitely. Course, I have hands that would make a hobbit feel superior...

nut width huh ....hmmmmm.... im gonna shh before i get moderated

WHAT!!!??? No 1 3/4???

I prefer either 1 11/16 or 1 3/4, depending on the rest of the profile....1 5/8 I can play, but I generally prefer not to

1 5/8 by a longshot. That's one of the reasons why I'm not too big on Jacksons anymore...not only do they use 1 1/16 but their fretboards are wider than my other 1 11/16 guitars(Les Pauls) and it's just uneconomical for my smaller hands....more importantly uncomfortable.

My Les Pauls are all 1 11/16 but they still manage to keep the fretboard width fairly narrow it seems...so I can deal with those better than the Jacksons.

I have a Peavey HP Sig and that guitar rocks....short scale, 1 5/8 nut, narrow fretboard and medium thickness neck....VERY NICE guitar for smaller hands.

i have both 1 5/8s i think and a 1 11/16, and ive definately grown to prefer the 1 11/16. it felt a bit weird at first seeing as all my others were smaller, but as i got used to it 1 5/8s started feeling too cramped

one of my favorite guitars has a 1 amp; 11/16quot; wide neck but the string spacing is that of a 1 amp; 5/8quot; nut, weird but it feels really good
