I want to push my Rivera Chubster little bit more for heavier music. I've been searching for pedals for this and I found that Hot British is very highly regarded. Does anyone have any feedback?
I think if you're trying to push the amp into heavy gain in a loud setting, the Banzai Fireball II gives a great tone.
In a home playing situation, where you depend on the pedal to supply most of the distortion, with amps that aren't loud, the Tonebone Hotbritish is the best choice.
For all the metal guys who wonder why their Boss Metal pedals sound like crap, they need to realize that they've got to save more money and just go for the Radial Tonebone. Then, they'll be happy!
If you're looking to push an amp, something along the lines of a clean boost pedal will certainly work. As GJ pointed out, the Banzai would be a good pedal for pushing that amp.
The ToneBone rocks at adding a distortion channel to a fully clean amp. I wouldn't put it in front of an already overdriven amp, it would be way too saturated. If you want a heavy sound, the Hot British will do it, but you'll want your amp set clean for it to do it's magic. It really is a great pedal!
