Any concerns with this? I want to put a Seth in the neck of a Tele that has a stack single coil in the bridge, but I don't want it to sound like mud. Anyone know what the Seth sound like with 250k?

probally like MUD!

Seymour uses 250K pots in his Tele with a Jazz and JB...but those are brighter pickups than the Seth Lover. If you go with 500K pots your Tele lead pickup will be brighter than with 250K pots. If I'm putting a full size humbucker in a guitar I always go with 500K...even if it does mean that the single coil in the same guitar will be a little brighter than it would be with 250K. Lew

You can run a 500K resistor in series with the hot lead of the Tele pickup to bring the load down to 250K for that pickup alone. Check Fender's Mr. Gearhead site for the HS Tele schematic (although they use a lower value than I like). I ended up pulling out the resistor in my HS Tele, so now my STL-2 Hot Tele lead runs through 500K pots, but it sounds just fine since it's overwound to restrain the high end.

If the wood in your Tele is unusually bright, 250k should be just fine. If it's a darkish-sounding Tele, go with 500k.

A lot depends on what sound you want out of the Seth. If you want a sweet, fat jazz-like tone, the 250k should actually help a little.
