i just bought an Ibanez SZ320MH
Link heregt; from : localhost/ibanez.com/guitars/guitar.asp?model=SZ320MH
it already has a duncan in it, and i usualy swear by Invaders.
I am thinking with the mahogany body, the invader may be a bit much on the bass side, but i realy like the growl it puts out.
anyone know of an alternative, or has anyone replaced the pickups with somehting else in this guitar?
In mahogany most folks find invader too muddy. If you want to keep pretty high output but get better clarity I'd try a Distortion, Custom, JB, or Full Shred. All do well in solid mahogany guitars.

SirZ, I have the SZ520QM with a Pearly Gates in the bridge and a Gibson 490 in the neck. This thing rocks!! I have an Alnico 2 Pro neck and a C5 bridge on the way that I think are going to be a tiny bit better but the PG really screams in the bridge. I would also like to hear a DD set in this axe and if I had another one I think that is what I would put in it. As far as the Invader, I don't know how bright your SZ is, mine has 1/2quot; quilted maple top which adds some zing to it and I think the Invader would sound pretty cool in it. I think the Custom or Distortion would sound great in it though. Only one way to find out.
I've Had invaders in Solid mahogany guitars before (namely an Explorer from the 80's) and While I massively dug the sound at the time. I kinda grew sick of it after awhile. It did actully have decent bite, but could be a bit muddy at times. It sounded magnificent for Leads (nice an thick with the right amount of bite). But for anything in drop-d, or power chords below a G# it just got way to muddy.
I would personally Suggest either A Jb (which I normally wouldn't suggest), Or A Distortion. But with either I would Change the Pots to 250k. And the Tone caps to .047uF. Mainly cause With it having a Maple Cap that would kinda cause the highs to be a bit Shrill or thin (In my opinon). But thats just my Opinion.
Also Keep in mind that The explorer I had the invader in was solid Mahogany. And since yer guitar has A maple top, it would probably sound substantially different. Also I'm not sure the scale lenth of yer guitar, but that would also have a massive effect on tone.....Ed
the guitar is SILID mahogany (refer to ink above prvided)
the scale is also on the ibanez link
but thanks for the advice....headed to the pup room to hear them
