Whats the best NON LOCKING Strat tremolo, most toneful with best sustain and smooth tremolo!!!...Not super expensive, somewhere around 130 or less...

I have tried the Vintage Reissue Fender Tremolos and they arent smooth feeling at all, very stiff...I have a Wilkinson in one guitar and I like it but I want a different look for this guitar...What should I get?

I assume two point will be smoother and stay in tune better? Maybe I am wrong?

I like the wilkinson/gotoh 6 point trem on my strat...stays in tune very well...feels solid...sounds good.

Judging from the quality of the hipshot hardtail I have...their tremolo system might be pretty cool too. Can't be 100% sure on that though...never tried it.

I had a vintage Gotoh system on my Don Grosh Bent Top Custom, I have to admit... that thing was killer and it very rarely ever went out of tune.

The Gamp;L, Dual Fulcrum tremelo, in my opinion is the best non locking tremelo made. I prefer it over locking tremelo's also.Sprinter

I think Wilkinsons Trems are at the top of the heap. If you know how to set them up standard Fender trems work great.

I have the Callaham 6 point trem on both of my strats and that is a great setup. It's real smooth and alonng with the locking vintage kluson style tuners I have I experience no tuning problems. He's pretty well known for his vintage repro trem blocks but the whole trem unit is just great. I actually sold my USA 2 point strat after I finished my first project strat with the Callaham. It just had better tone, was smoother and stayed in tune better. I think he even makes a conversion kit for USA strats now to convert a 2 point strat to his 6 point bridge.

I'm going to try his Tele bridge next.

for me, nothing stays in tune as good as fender deluxe tremolo,

I love the American Standard trem...

I like the Fender Vintage the best, set it up properly so it sonly pivoting on the outside two, it holds its tune well solid, with a well cut nut.

I like the Fender '62 Reissue for tone and Wilkinson for smooth. All of my Fender Strats have the '62 Reissue except for my '63 Strat and it has the original vibrato. My Hamer Daytona quot;Stratquot; has the Wilkinson and it sounds great too, though maybe not quite as deep as the Fender...but it stays in tune better. In fact, I don't even use the Fenders I keep them locked down. If I'm going to play a little vibrato I use the Hamer and the Wilkenson. Lew

I kind of like the Gotoh Vintage 6 screw trem for a cheap vintage style bridge..... I have one and i feel it's as good as my Fender vintage style trem.... But i like the modern American Standard bridge mostly because of the feel and it's more heigth adjustable friendy... I like the saddles smooth feel under my hand and the tighter string spread.... If i was play a vintage style strat i'd want the vintage bridge but if i'm throwing a parts guitar together i might as well use a modern bridge....

Chalk up another vote for the Wilks. The 2 point is the smoothest non-locking trem I've ever used and the 6 screw has a little of the vintage Fender stamped-saddle flair that a lot of us like.

These are currently getting good reviews on The Gear Page. And only $38.00 !!!

Glad to hear you like the Hamer Daytona. It seemed like a logical choice and I always wondered why you didn't have one. Now I don't have to wonder anymore.

IMO nothing better than the Callaham unit. Best vintage trem on the market, and I believe he is working on a 2 point as well.
