I received my H150 yesterday from Wolfe Guitars. Great sounding guitar, beautiful flame top, great neck.....BUT.....the binding isn't what it should be (at least compared to my Dean Hardtail). There's one spot where it's overstained (right on the top at the cutaway so I'll always see it). There's some errant stain on the neck binding (that faces the ground when you play) and some slighly uneven taping on the top side of the neck.
I expressed my displeasure to Jay Wolfe who said Heritage will fix what I don't like about the guitar. Can the binding be fixed without a complete rebind/stain? Granted, this is a minor issue.....the guitar plays and sounds great. Did I get spoiled by how impeccable the Hardtail is, or is this a quality control issue that should've been caught before the guitar landed on my door step?
oohh that's a tough one...all you can do is get ahold of Heritage and tell them what's going on, voice your concerns, and see what they have to say...?!
that sucks man...i know what you mean though...my Brian Moore has one small spot where the binding leaves the body and starts to go up the neck where it doesn't go high enough...it bugs me!

OH NO!!!!!! The Deans are fantastic but my Heritage is as well. When you say overstained you are talking about the stain seeping into it and changing the color? One of my friend Jim's R8s has that bleeding.
I'd call Heritage and tell them what's going on.
Man this sucks!

My R8 has stained binding on the neck for a stretch. It has something to do with that reddish stain. Happens a lot. If you look at some old REAL late 50's Les Pauls, you'll see the same thing.
It didn't bother me enough to send mine back.
But, that being said, if it bothers you now, it will bother you forever. Send it back to Jay and start over, expect Jay to issue a shipping return tag, you shouldn't be liable to pay for that if you are unhappy.
I would guess, Jay would send it back to Heritage.
Heritage would either strip it and restain, or more likely replace the entire guitar.
Which ever they feel is more cost effective.

Maybe Gibson's old employees who work for Heritage are getting tired? ha ha J/K !!

They've gotta be getting old, right?
I've decided to return the H150. For what I paid, there should have been no issues and the binding will ALWAYS bother me. Factor in that I don't wish to be inconvenienced by sending the guitar off to Heritage and having to wait I'm going with the straight return.
Did you try it before you buyed?

I hadn't played that specific guitar due to the fact the dealer is in Florida and I'm in Pennsylvania. I had played that model before buying. I dig the guitar...sounds great, plays great. My only issue is the binding is sub par.
