Hey guys!

I have a problem and I'm hoping the pickup experts here can help.

I just bought a set of Alnico II Pros for my Peavey Vandenberg Custom Quilt - and my lord, they sound good.Anyway, I wanted to put the old Peavey pickups into my Godin Freeway Classic. I removed the Godin pickups and started to mount the Peavey pickups when I realized that the screw holes in the pickup baseplate were stripped. The screws literally push all the way through with no resistance.

Now, if the pup baseplates were metal, I'd just re-drill and re-tap the holes, but these baseplates appear to be plastic. Is there anything that can be done, or should I just forget it and re-mount the Godin pickups?

Hmm...I think I'd try putting a drop of Super Glue (maybe gap filling Satellite City Super Glue) in each hole, let it dry and then gently rethread the hole with the screw. Go slow. It may never be as strong a thread as it once was, but it should work. Lew

JB Weld some small thin peices of sheet metal under the hole,re-drill,and slowly remake the threads or best to retap the threads...I don't think the Krazy Glue is going to work? At least not for long,but it's an easier and great idea to try first.
