Hey guys, could anyone please tell me what's the tonal difference between these two? I can't find any info on the 25s... Celestion doesn't even mention them... I think Marshall once had a description of them, but it seems to be gone with the new site...
thanks
bump... anyone?
Are you talking about the G12M-25 vs. the Vintage 30? The Vintage 30 has a bigger magnet and will handle alot more power...more like 50 or 60 watts. It's alot louder and clearer. The G12M-25 is crunchier and has more of that classic Marshall quot;chonkquot;...kind of a mix of a quot;honkquot; and a quot;chquot; sound.
The G12M-25 is a great speaker if you compare it to just about any speaker besides a Vintage 30 or G12H-30. But of those three the G12M-25 would be #3 and my least favorite: not enough bass response in an open back cabinet.

I actually don't know if I'm talking about that G12M-25... every dealer around here calls it Vintage 25 and it has 50W each...
Edit: Wait a second.. isn't the G12M the Greenback?
Yes. The G12M-25 is the Greenback. Lew
the greenback is the only 25 i know about
It's definately not the Greenback... the Greenback is really 25W while the quot;Vintage 25quot; is rated 50W
