Well my model 2 is getting its new nut today as soon as I finish filing it I believe, and now is the time to find it a new bridge pickup. 9fingers sent me an OBL450L for it but it has way too little output, it will go in the neck position for some powerful cleans (great pickup by the way!). The bridge position needs to have a hum cancelling pickup with A LOT of output (there is no midboost on this guitar... so I'd say around 15.5K or more of DC resistance on the SD scale. It needs to have quite a tight sound, with tight bass, and as much mids as possible. Basically a FullShred in SC size Will the hotrails provide this? I have no idea how open or tight it is... Other participants are the GFS Hot killer for Strat and the DiMarzio Fast Track 2. SD wise, I'm hesitating between the Hotrails and the Lil' Screaming Deamon. Feel free to suggest anything else!

The HR bridge is tight, hot, dark and has dense mids. It was never designed to sound like any kind of single coil. It's more like a CC bridge, which may be what you're looking for. Most of the other single-sized humbuckers aren't as thick sounding. I can't comment on the lil Screamin Demon....never tried it.

I'll put it like this, The HR make an ash strat with maple neck sound like the thickest guitar u have ever heard, at least if your playing through a marshall. its uber-thick

Mhmm that seems like a good thing. Would the JB jr also be for me? Brow said it could also work (mid hump, tight sound...)

See Maiden guys

I dropped hot rails in one of my Strats a few months back... I was surprised at the range of tones that I can get out of it... I play in a rock band and had been using that guitar for most of that work... I recently started hangin' with a blues band and the HR fits right in there too... It's warm and fat but without killing any clarity or articulation... Hope that helps...
